Meet Art Model Natalie Turnbull
Welcome to a Coffee interview- these are a bit shorter than my 100 Interview series and very open ended. Will you give an interview?
( As always forgive typos-I type between work and family life)
Art Model Natalie Turnbull of The North East Life Art Project
Ms. Turnbull runs life drawing sessions and is an art model herself. She began by seeking out an art class to pose for. She had previously had negative experiences with her body image and found that life modeling changed her perspective and gave confidence. Life modeling was a radical change for her and push to get out of her old ways and thoughts. She now says she never looked back after disrobing.
When she started as a model she thought it was just sitting for long periods of time. She learned this was a flawed idea and that modeling requires a lot of skill. It involves mental and physical strength. She adds you can really tell the ones who model for the love of it and those who do so for money.
This is a good aside- I’ve only met a few pro models, but most people I have interviewed have not been for the fun, but rather the love of a very unique side gig- the art model. It’s also remarkable the people who have gone to the stand- people who are and done things I cannot tell on these pages- but people at the highest levels of success and power to the joe and jane average- it’s a special group united by an art few understand but almost every painter has been devoted to.
Ms. Turnbull says she does not mind people seeing her disrobed. She says there’s no where to hide when its off and she loves how she has to confront the mental challenges of her body image and the stage. Mental exercise she calls it.
She runs her own sessions, that have good vibes and jazz music. As an organizer she does have comments too. If you recall Interview # 11 he was also an organizer with some comments on fellow models. Read Here She says sometimes models let you down, miss, and venues can have a lot of admin rules. But when a session is going its very rewarding. She says a good model creates a vibe.
Ms. Turnbull lives in the UK and has a day job in pharmacy. Her friends and family are supportive and she loves telling new people she’s a nude model it kinda bends their minds. She hopes audiences see something in her, and that she is unique. She is a curvy model and groups are actually quite excited to have her model for the curves.
